Alternative sitting room new position

Considering a new build extension south facing. Current north facing living room repositioned to benefit from south facing light. Great in the summer with the sliding doors onto the garden. This area is big enough for a formal dining table and a small sitting/study area at the opposite end.

Living area in the new extension now faces south. Also the bigger rectangular shape means space for a formal dining area and space the grand piano, which is currently sited in the awkward shaped living room facing north.

Kitchen

Utility replaces the old cramped kitchen and blocking up one door into the garage, means a practical space for coats, bags and a dog bed.

Kitchen resited in the north side of the house. Can take advantage of the chimney fireplace to site the range and the ventilation hood, to give the room more character. Also allows for an island and a breakfast table in the L-shape. This also means the kitchen is next to the utility.

LivingRoom
