#Children'sDayContest_: The Jelliebean studio!
The Jelliebean studio was designed with the development and happiness of children in mind. They focused on three areas of development of children and then built a design around the three areas namely: Reading, Creativity and Body awareness. There was a designated area done for the development of each area. As for the color scheme...well, open a packet of jellie beans an see what you find there! A big outdoor space was designed for playing in the fresh. Also the concept of food trucks was used to provide meals and snacks. The building was divided in three separate areas for reading, art and physical activities. There was a locker area on the one side and a cloak room area on another side.
This is the view out from the bathroom window.
Two toilets, one on each side of the vanity area.
This is the walkway leading from the city street into the terrace area. They used as much natural materials as they could and lined it with big trees to create the park like atmosphere.
Food trucks for food and snacks! How cool is this!
Rocking horses......
Mommies and Daddies are also welcome at this joint!
Jelliebeans!! Words like fun and happy and color, joy and grow and learn!!
The terrace was close with a roof on the one side and a seating area created for snack time!
This is the locker room with more than enough space for back packs and shoes and jackets!
Hallway leading from the locker room into the rest of the space. The rooms were conveniently closed off with louvred doors.
The equipment room where there's more than enough activities to develop body skills and strength.
And this little man can't wait to tackle the climbing wall!
The safety of children are priority so there was a mattress installed on the floor.
This is the reading room where the children are always welcome to sit and read....or be read to in the weekly reading sessions.
Cubes were installed on the walls for color and storage, but also for extra seating. Curl yourself up in one of those...you'll love it!
Around the pillars was the tables installed with stools to sit and read.....or to create something!
In the front of the room this mural was installed with a raised platform where reading sessions are done every week.
This is the art room and its filled with everything you need to create to your heart's content!
Words to live by and something every child should know!
The colors of the room was taken out of the mural which was chosen to inspire and to bring out the wonder in every child.
Yes, young lady......you also!!

What a tremendous concept Hester.. but more so how BRILLAINTLY you executed this entire children's project inside and out. A completely dazzling delight of colour, composition and design excellence!!! I loved the different areas you created.. the outside space with the food trucks was inspired and every area inside could not have been more accomplished or delightful. A total joy for every lucky child who attends here and for all other designers to enjoy... WHAT A TREAT,
