I am not a professional, just a senior who loves architecture, and I am submitting a proposal to the city and local builders for a large lot across from where I live in Belleville, Ontario. Although I have created 2D drawings with SmratDraw I want to add good 3D renderings of both the site plan and the apartment units. 


First I spent countless hours with Sweet Home 3D but had major issues importing models and trying to design custom kitchen cabinets. The program is very old and had little support other than a community forum but no one answered me on issues. I then tried Live Home 3D and, although the support from Belight was excellent, the program was still very limited when it came to rendering, plus very expensive. Weeks ago I then switched to a highly recommended program call COOHOM. Although I totally agreed that it was one of the best programs available, their support drove me mad. 

To learn the program I started a project, a two-bedroom unit and spent a ton of hours learning it with their free 7-Day Trial. I was happy enough with it during the trial to subscribe for the Pro version, but after I entered my billing information and clicked on the button to subscribe nothing happened. I immediately contacted their support but received no answer. I then tried to use the various discount codes shown on other videos that people had done for the program, one of which was "everythingdesign" which showed a 72% discount for a price of $42 for a year, but when I clicked on that it showed a price of $118.41, which I also reported to COOHOM support. Again no answer. On another video there was a link and when I clicked on it I got a page on COOHOM's site that showed a "Get It Now" button, but that did nothing as well. Numerous emails back and forth with their support but no answers. 

As my two-bedroom unit was nearing completion just needing the Pro version to do the 3D rendering I started a new project to design the one bedroom unit and saved it as one_bedroom unit. When I then went to do some final editing again on the two-bedroom unit it was gone! Untold hours of work just disappeared! No answer from COOHOM despite asking them five times! 

Then out of the blue and with no authorization from me they charged my bank $40.83 and my bank said this was a "recurring charge"! What? I immediately emailed their support telling them I would report this as fraud. Their response was to insult me about my "complaining", they would reverse the charge and stop me from using the program! Seriously? 

I am clearly beyond frustrated now. I have watched the videos on this program and I'm most impressed. Although I know that I can start from scratch again importing my 2D layouts I'm wondering now that I see the many similaries in the programs is there any way to import my COOHOM layouts? COOHOM support refuses to answer me about where my two-bedroom unit project went, but it would still be helpful if I can import the one_bedroom unit in. 

After what COOHOM put me through with their billing I also want to be perfectly clear about the pricing here. I see a price showing $6.98 a month, which I assume is USD, plus there is also a popup showing 20% off with the code A56W98. I assume that I need to pay for one year? 

I sincrerely appreciate any help. My Business Proposal is now much delayed.
